So how do you really make money online in Nigeria?
In this topic, which I expect to be the beginning of a series, I want to talk about Hubpages and this comes with the jingle;

To make money online, be a hubber

Hubpages is a website that allows you to submit and publish your very own articles on the internet. Once it is published, it means that it is available to the whole world or at least to all in cyberspace.

What really are articles?
Articles are informational write-ups or essays. They are writings that teach people how to do stuff. For instance, you can write an article on:

How to drive a car

How to make money printing recharge cards

Best way to book for an airline ticket

A review of the Apple Ipad

Why the Nokia 6300 uses too much battery power

So articles actually helps to provide information or opinion on a subject to people. You can further categorize articles into groups such as:
Health, Education, Business, Recreation, Entertainment or Politics

Articles are meant to covey your judgement on a particular theme and provides tips to your readers.
When writing a good article, it should at least have the following features:

Clarity

Simplicity

Good grammar

Richness in content (250 to 600 words)

So how do you really make money online with Hubpages?
- First you need to register at Hubpages.com
- Post and article (or hub) and publish it
- Monetize your hubpage account by adding Google adsense, Chitika, Amazon or other income generating programme

When you publish a good hub, you will only know if it is popular if you can view the statistics and it shows a high number of unique views as well as comments being posted by interested readers.

Hubpages allows you to also share a part of their earnings from advertising programme, assuming you are not directly dealing with the sponsors already and will pay you what you have earned within the payment period assuming you've reached the minimum payment threshold.

The reason why I am recommending Hubpages for any serious Nigerian who wants to make money online writing articles is because of its numerous advantages such as:

You don't need a website

You don't need to sign up for adsense although you may still include your account

You don't need to pay for a new domain name or pay for web hosting

It allows you to focus your attention primarily on writing good quality hubs

Perhaps you should first of all start looking at a category of things you can write about like Pets, fashion, movies, sports or even gardening. Something that you are good at or knowledgeable about, then you list like 10 topics within that category and write extensively on it

It is not really Hubpages that will pay you but the affiliate sites that you sign up with and link to your account that pays you such as Google adsense, Kontera or Amazon.
