It is hard enough trying to make money online in Nigeria with Google adsense such that it is no easy task getting to make the minimum $100 payment threshold for your efforts. The discouraging thing with Google adsense business in Nigeria is the issue of hidden bank charges when your Adsense cheque clears. There are a lot of expenses a Nigerian webmaster makes just to get paid by Google adsense in Nigera and I would want to list the ones I've faced here:
1. $150 Initial minimum deposit for opening a savings domiciliary account
2. $22 Courier charges by Google for sending the cheque through DHL in order to overcome mail fraud
3. $60 as hidden bank charges for sending a courier to the issuing bank
4. $20 when the cheque clears
5. $20 for finally withdrawing dollars from your domiciliary account
So apart from the initial deposit for opening a domiciliary account, the total charges I pay for finally getting my cash from Google adsense is $122($60+$22+$20+20). So you could imagine, if you are not making at least twice as that in a month, you wouldn't bother to get your cheque from Google every month in the first place. Although I make more than that in a month, the charges are still too high and I'm thinking of going to more customer friendly bans very soon because my bank seems to have too many customers and a small bank may do me better.
In order to reduce my costs, I have chosen to allow my payments to be on hold for 3 months, so I prefer getting my payments quarterly rather than monthly since the costs are fixed.
