We first had fire ovens and then moved over to traditional electronic ovens and then came the electronic microwave oven but there is a new one now in the market called the halogen oven.
A halogen oven is a type of electric oven that cooks by making use of it's halogen light as the heating element They tend to perform more efficiently and effectively than traditional ovens as a result of their halogen light.
You can roast a whole chicken in this kind of oven and get better results with less stress than a traditional oven or microwave and all you'll need to do is set the time and temperature.
I recently got a
halogen oven from Dealdey in Nigeria and have to say I prefer it to my
microwave oven. It cooks really well and you can even use it for baking cake or roasting chicken.
The basic features of a halogen oven are the control box at the top, a see through glass pot or bowl at the bottom. The control box is powered by electricity via and electric cable that is plugged to the wall. It also has a thermostat that controls the temperature so that it doesn't exceed or go below the set temperature. It makes use of a fan that helps circulate heat that is generated so that it evenly cooks the food items in the bowl.
It is reported that the halogen oven cooks faster than a conventional oven and still uses less electric power to do so making it more efficient.
The Halogen oven also has a self cleaning capacity meaning that it can clean itself up if you just provide it with the tools it needs. You just need to place some detergent in water on the bowl and put it on wash function.
