As a result of the inefficient power supply system in Nigeria as well as the hot weather, smart Nigerians know that it's better to buy a rechargeable fan than buying an ordinary fan. Rechargeable fans can work when there is electricity and when there is not because even when the power company a.k.a. NEPA takes the light, they will still be able to work for up to 6 hrs or more.
The problem with most Nigerian cities like Lagos, Abuja, Onitsha or Port Harcourt is not that there is no power supply at all but there is an insufficient supply of it and so like God instructed Joseph to help the Egyptians store food from their abundance so that they will be able to feed on it during their times of famine, it's also a wise thing to store energy when it is supplied from NEPA so that it can be used when there is no supply from NEPA.
How do you store electrical power from NEPA? It's simple! Just use a rechargeable battery and that's one of the basic things a rechargeable fan comes with when you get to use it.
Many Nigerians find it hard to sleep at night when there is no electricity supply and because some of them don't invest in alternative forms of energy or have a means of storing energy, they end up having uncomfortable or sleepless nights.
With rechargeable fans however, you will be able to sleep better in the day as well as the night irrespective of how epileptic the power supply is. A growing number of smart Nigerians now use rechargeable fans and it has helped make their homes and offices cooler hence making their life more comfortable.
A rechargeable fan is called rechargeable because it carries a battery on the inside that can be charged when not in use and discharged when in use. Before using a rechargeable fan, it first of all needs to be charged and after it has been fully charged and indicated on the charging light, it may then be gradually discharged as it is being used as a fan.
Ordinary fans only work when there is power supply to it and given the situation in Nigeria, it's not ideal for use like rechargeable fans. A rechargeable fan on the other hand can be used when there is power supply or not because it carries a backup battery that keeps it alive for a limited time depending on the battery capacity.
One striking difference between rechargeable fans and ordinary fans is in their design. The moving parts of Rechargeable fans are designed to be lighter in weight and hence use less energy than traditional or ordinary fans. While traditional electrical fans are mostly made of metal, rechargeable fans are mostly made of plastic.
Rechargeable fans can also work while there is power supply from the power company and keeps working when they go offline. It's the ideal fan to use in a situation where there is electricity rationing.
Many Nigerians are gradually purchasing rechargeable fans because they know of the numerous benefits associated with using it and they'll continue to be a good advantage as long as there is electricity rationing/load shedding in Nigeria and I think that could continue for many years to come.
Compared to ordinary fans, rechargeable fans in the market are not too expensive as their prices are almost the same and they come in different brands and types. Brands like Andrakk, Qlink, Redlion, Yoko, Bluecell, Alfana, Lucky, Sonitec, Lontor, Panasonic, QASA, Binatone, Linsan, DOLBIB, Prince, Century, Polystar, Sonik are some of the ones I've seen in the market and they seem to be mostly imported from China and South Korea.
There are different kinds of rechargeable fans such as standing fans, hanging fans, table fans, wall fans, ceiling fans and so on.
