Amazon, the biggest online shopping website in the USA and probably the world has a new and low cost tablet they are planning to launch by October 25th 2015 and you can get this tablet even if you are in Nigeria. Everyone who knows tech knows about Amazon tablets and that they are one of the best in the market. When US companies like Amazon produce their own tablets, they don't make ones that come with low quality or expected to last for the short term but because they have a good name to protect, they make products that would satisfy the customer for the long term and the Fire tablet is one of such products.
What really amazes me about this new Amazon tablet is that it sells for just $49.99. Imagine an Android tablet that sells for lower than $50 and you can get a 6th tablet for free if you buy up to 5 of them.
I remember the first time I bought an Android tablet from Amazon and it was the Kindle Fire HD 7 which sold for $199. My Kindle Fire is still working and I can still read books, browse the web, play android games and do online shopping. Now there is a new tablet that even comes with an expandable external memory storage of up to 128GB and that's one of the reasons why I want to buy this one because my HD 7 doesn't come with expandable storage and it's only limited to 8GB.
Amazon now delivers a lot of stuff directly to Nigeria and I've added them as one of the top online shopping destinations for Nigerians but one thing I also noticed is that they don't deliver Fire tablets directly yet but you can still get it in Nigeria by simply making use of a US mail forwarding company.
A US mail forwarding company will provide you with a US address and warehouse to use as your shipping destination when shopping for things on Amazon that they only ship to US addresses and what that means is that you can get all the good stuff that are mostly only available to residents of the USA even if you were in Nigeria.
Amazon would still accept Nigerian bank issued Visa or Mastercards even if they are Naira denominated but may not always ship certain goods to Nigerian addresses and that's why I recommend you get that US mail forwarding company.
How it basically works is that you should first sign up for an account and you'd be given a US address to use for your online shopping on Amazon and any other US websites that only ship to US addresses. You would then use your Naira card to shop on Amazon probably for the Fire tablet at just $49.99 and it will be delivered to your US address.
Apart from the membership fee from the US forwarding service, the only other fee you have to pay to get your Fire tablet is the international shipping cost it would take to get to Nigeria and that would depend on the shipping weight. I'm estimated that it would cost around $60 to $80 depending on whether you use UPS, DHL or Fedex. You can reduce your shipping cost per unit if you buy more units(e.g. 5 or 10) rather than just 1. Yes, the more items you ship internationally, the lower your shipping cost per unit.
I've bought a lot of stuff on Amazon from Nigeria using my Naira Mastercard and the Kindle Fire HD 7 was one of them. I'm probably going to buy the Fire 7 tablet the same way since Amazon doesn't yet offer direct shipping to Nigeria for it just yet.
