Konga, an online shopping website in Nigeria began their Yakata Sales quite early in 2015 as it started on Thursday the 26th and ends on Friday the 27th of November. Worldwide, online shoppers know that November 27 is known as Black Friday and it's a special day when shopping websites and major retailers offer the lowest prices for their products.
Black Friday shopping allows buyers to get a lot of items at the lowest prices for the year and I guess it's because retailers want to close their books for the year and bring in new products the following year. It's also probably because of the fact that Christmas is around the corner and most people tend to wait till sometime in November to do their shopping.
To Konga, it's not called Black Friday officially but called Yakata and the sales have begun already. So don't call it Konga Black Friday but rather Konga Yakata. It's a first come first served offer and it's the early bird that catches the worm. Don't be left out of the Yakata Sales.
In Nigeria, the Black Friday shopping fever is already catching a lot of people as a growing number of Nigerians now wait for Black Friday deals in order to do their major shopping for the year. Konga's version of Black Friday is known as Yakata Sales and they offer a lot of deals online with prices crashing for as low as 70% on several products already listed.
I have to say that there may be a couple of other online shopping websites and retailers in Nigeria that offer low prices on Black Friday but Konga has one of the greatest number of deals that buyers should be taking advantage of. You'd see laptops, HD TV, sound systems, fashion items, cookers, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, mobile phones, tablets, baby and personal care items. It makes sense to buy them now rather than wait till the next year since Nigeria's economy is historically inflationary.
Most other retailers waited till November 27th to begin offering Black Friday sales but they begun already on Thursday the 26th on Konga and I'm guessing it's because they want everyone to have a chance of buying it and also to spread the huge amount of traffic they are expecting to 2 days rather than just 1. In previous years, some online shopping websites in Nigeria had their websites crashing down during black Friday deals because they were a lot of potential buyers who were mostly Nigerians visiting them but now they've learnt their lesson by improving the capacity of their website to withstand the huge traffic and Konga did well on that as 2014 Yakata Sales was successful.
With the black Friday offers during Konga Ykata 2015, Konga is now allowing buyers to pay with Konga Pay, a new payment method that is owned by Konga and they are also offering people a 5% if they use this payment method rather than the cash, card or bank payments they normally used in the past. What really is Konga Pay? Well, Konga Pay is an in-house payment system that allows buyers on Konga to settle their bills during checkout without the need for using a card. I guess Konga has a sort of electronic payment system that works in partnership with Nigerian banks that allows bank account holders to send money to Konga's account and also allows Konga to do a reversal easily and hence guarantees a 100% buyer protection. What I like about this method is that it's not a gift card and so you are not bound to spend or keep your money with Konga as your money will still be in your bank until you are ready to pay for something. It works with your mobile phone whereby you'll receive an SMS with a token you can use to complete the transaction on Konga. Konga has partnered with some banks but it's not all banks that are available on Konga Pay yet.
How low have the prices really gone? Well, after taking a look, I noticed that the Infinix Hot 2 phone was offered for N17,900, Nokia Lumia 532 was offered for N30600, Blackberry Q10 was offered for N30600, an ASUS 15.6 inch laptop was offered for N57800, a 32 inch Samsung HD LED TV was offered for N39,500, a Daewoo Microwave sold for N10,000, a Scanfrost cooker SF 5400 sold for N23,000 and they'll still get an extra 5% discount if they checkout using Konga Pay.
Konga's Black Friday deals or Yakata Sales is basically one of the best Pre-Christmas or end of year bargain for people who want to buy things before the year runs out or for people who just want to save the most money when shopping. There is no better time to shop online in Nigeria if you are the kind of person that cares about saving money. I've purchased some things during black Friday that I've not regretted. It doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money to buy stuff you'd only feel remorse for later on but it pays to spend wise when doing your shopping. With Yakata Sales, you can spend wisely during your shopping.
There is no better time to buy things from Konga other than during their Yakata Sales and this coincides with Black Friday throughout the world.
