How Old is your Domain?
Domain Age refers to how old a domain name is. It is quite different from the whois information related to a domain name. The older a domain name is, the more likely it will rank higher in search engines and more especially so if it has been having content on it. I did a query for this domain - multidox.org today at domainage.us and confirmed that my domain was 5 years and 179 days, just a day older than Nairaland.com

Search Engine Optimization and Domain Age
SEO experts are quite curious in acquiring domain names that would help them rank high in particular keywords on search engines and the older such a domain name with keyword is, the more they would be willing to buy that domain name and at whatever price. I just bought a domain name for $150 not because it was the nominal price for a domain, but because it was very relevant to a keyword I have been trying to dominate for years. It is funny how a simple domain name would make your website more respected on search engines like Yahoo and Google such that even with just ten pages of content, you could be number one on the results and much higher than a non related domain name that has hundreds of pages of content.

How to check your domain name age online
So I ran into this tool that allows users to check their domain. It is located at www.domainage.us.
All you need to do to check your domain or a domain you are interested in is to enter the domain name there e.g. multidox.org and then click on the button.
It returns a page showing you how old that domain is actually.

Comments: The older a domain name is, the higher its worth, particularly for SEO.
