To be a blogger can be challenging even in the US not just in terms of the huge number of people already in the market but also having it as a career. It is not easy telling your friends or family that you blog for a living. It may ave been better if you told them that you were a Hollywood star or Engineer. Suppose someone studied Engineering or Medicine or Accounting and then starts a new career in Blogging since it looks more interesting, how do people take you serious. Even in the US, start up bloggers are not taken seriously. Even successfully bloggers are not taken seriously when there are other better paying jobs like being a CEO or CIO of an IT company. It is the same thing in Nigeria, nobody may want to hear you say that you are a Professional blogger or even understand what you mean by that? They would prefer it if you sidelined your university education and became a successful Nollywood star or musician but why a blogger?
The term blogger is no really understood by the average Nigerian but for those who understand it, it is a huge opportunity.
What does it take to be a Nigerian Blogger and if possible, be a professional at it?
How to be a Nigerian Blogger:
- You need a website and a niche of your own
- You need a blogging platform or software installed on your site
- You need to know what topics are hot and what is not
- You need to follow your audience and also let them follow you
- You should blog everyday or every week
- Get to know your strength and build on it
- You need to have a good command of Nigerian English
- You need to have a good understanding of Nigerian culture
- Don't get too involved in Political blogging because it is barbaric in Africa

I don't know how to register a domain name and do hosting but I can write. Is there any way i can get paid for blogging only without doing the initial processes?

@KC it's not easy improving your Google adsense earning within a short time but the fastest way is by letting people know about your blog by linking from other popular blogs and forums. However in the long run, having a good content pays best

@Ahmed, you can sign up with Nigerian blogs or websites as a freelance blogger. You may also get a free blog from blogspot.com or blog and get paid at Hubpages.com
