Blogging is an emerging profession meaning that more and more people across the globe are beginning to see it as a real job. Imagine if one can work at home or anywhere with an internet access and still be making about $3000 a month from just blogging, wouldn't that qualify as a real job?
Blogging is still relatively new in Nigeria and it appears that not quite a lot of people know what blogging really is or how to set one up.
Blogging is when you make a web log or change in the content on your website. It is more commonly referred to writing and publishing your writings about a subject or topic, to the world. In Nigeria, it could very well suffice for a profession since it can put food on the table and provide the basic necessities of life if monetized properly and bringing in about $500 a month.
There are already a lot of blogs set up by Nigerian bloggers in cyberspace and they seem to be monetizing seriously with Google adsense. I wouldn't want to talk deeply about Google adsense here other than say that it is a highly effective means of generating income from internet publishing.
Blogging in Nigeria is growing and may very well change the way business is done and how people communicate socially. It is not exactly strange to talk about blogging and making money online in Nigeria but it is still relatively new and the race is open for those who would be the first to actually do blogging for a living.
Blogging and internet knowledge may be slow in coming to Nigeria but it is rapidly growing at a much faster rate and Nigeria has already overtaken South Africa based on the number of internet users. The only problem with Nigeria now is the higher cost of broadband service as well as the unreliability of such service.
