MTN Nigeria, probably after the success of their last product called DSTV Mobile on the Nokia 5330, has launched a new product called Sim-inside Netbook.
This new offer is actually an internet ready Laptop that has the ability to accept sim cards such as MTN's. It doesn't require an external modem in order to be able to harness the 3.5G data capacity of an MTN sim card
This is the first of its kind and MTN is the only network currently offering this type of internet service. It is quite different from the current MTN Fastlink which requires an external MTN branded USB modem because with the Netbook, all it requires is a sim.
The new Bundled Internet subscription plus the Netbook costs around N72,000 and it runs on the 3.5g platform meaning it's really on a mobile broadband speed. MTN's Sim Netbook is a smart way to surf the web without the inconveniences of a modem which can be exposed to overuse or damage and it makes carrying your internet ready laptop much easier. the good thing about this package is that you can choose from any Netbook brand such as HP or Acer. Once you get connected with the Netbook from MTN, you stand a chance of being rewarded with N20,000. You can visit the website on www.mtnonline.com to check for details.
Final Comments: I am wondering, what if a customer already has a personal laptop that also allows a sim insertion, would MTN help in setting up the data connection for them or must the person buy the Netbook with the internet plan for N72,000?
