My website has been facing a high frequency of spam comments from a particular ip address from Netherlands. Although it is a comment based spam and it doesn't immediately appear on my website, I have somewhat tried to see a way to block that particular ip address since it is unnecessary using up my web traffic and may become a future threat if I don't nip it in the bud.
So I tried to see if I could just block the ip address from within my Bluehost Cpanel account and it did.
Here is what i did to block the offending ip address:
- Logged into Bluehost Cpanel
- Locate Ip Deny Manager
- Entered the ip address (Since my comment captures ip locations)
- Clicked on deny to deny it
With this so far, I have been able to reduce spam comments coming from that ip.
