Using the internet to make money in Nigeria

Nigeria has the highest number of internet users in Africa and there are several reasons why people use the internet here such as:

- Social networking
- Career search
- Forex trading
- Research
- Online registration for WAEC, UTME, NECO, GMAT and others

The groups of people who use the internet includes Job seekers, prospective students, professionals and institutions.

Th internet has changed and improved the way people live in Nigeria and these days, it is becoming hard to run a business effectively without using the internet. It is helping people communicate faster and better.

Why are there so many internet users in Nigeria? This is probably because of 3 main reasons:

- The need
- Affordability
- Availability

When you look at some of the reasons I mentioned above, you would see that those who mostly use the internet do so because they are rather forced to. You can hardly register for examinations like Jamb or Waec or even do your university registraton without using the internet and majority of people who do this are the young people.

Think of it, if you spend abut N5000 a month to use the internet in Nigeria and you are still able to make the same amount of money from it, it means that you have covered your cost and can now leverage on the power of the internet to make more money. If you are able to find a way to even make $1, you could then apply a factor to make much more than that but it really still lies on breaking even at first - covering your costs.
So what do I suggest that can help you make money from the internet? Well there are many ways you can do this but one easy step is by writing articles and getting paid for it on freelance websites. You may also write articles and publish them on your website and get paid by online advertising such as Google adsense or Infolinks.
