PayPal is in Kenya and at the right time too as more Kenyans get online and become used to cyberspace. Transferring and getting money online is the new wave because more users now can send and receive money on the internet and this is helping to connect Kenya to the rest of the Paypal world. As long as both the sender and receive have an email address and a Paypal account, they can both send and receive money online using the power of the internet.
A relation or friend in the USA or UK can send money to another person in Kenya and in minutes, the money is transferred to the latter's account. All it takes is a click of a button and Paypal funds are moved.
So how do you send money online to someone in Kenya using Paypal?
It is quite simple, all you need to do are:
- Make sure you already have an email address
- Sign up with Paypal.com
- Add money into your account using bank or credit card
- Get the receiver's email addresss
- Log in to Paypal and click on send money and complete the transaction
- You may then call the beneficiary in Kenya that you have sent the money.
How does the person in Kenya receive the money via Paypal?Currently, Paypal now allows users to receive money online but it doesn't allow them to withdraw it yet to a Kenyan bank but only to a US bank and so Kenyan paypal receivers would have to use something like a credit card or use an online exchange service to convert paypal funds to Kenyan Shillings. That's not really a problem as long as the funds have been credited to their paypal account.
Paypal users in Kenya can also send money online or buy stuffYes this Paypal service allows Kenyans to do more online with their Paypal account as I see no other online Payment service that offers a much better service as Paypal does on the internet with its effectiveness and affordability.
Users can send money even to relations abroad or children in Universities or just a family friend as a form of greeting or gift. All the user has to do is to login to his paypal account, add funds with a local bank connected to Paypal and then transfers to the said beneficiary using the online facility at Paypal.com. You can also use Paypal to buy stuff or pay for subscriptions online where Paypal is accepted and this allows people more access to online payment.
Paypal has revolutionized the way in which online business is done in Kenya and it is equally helping a lot of professionals get paid for doing freelance jobs on the internet. Perhaps in the near future, Kenyans who use Paypal may find it easier and possible to withdraw their funds to a local bank account in cash because with the way I see it, you would need a US bank account or at least a USA backed debit card to get your funds to Kenya.
