Having a lot of content on your mobile phone is a cool thing as you can save a lot of items with a good memory card like pictures, messages, videos, bookmarks, contacts and so on. If you are using a Nokia 5330 phone, having a back up of your device on your pc is a smart thing to do. If your network provider also allows you to do an online back up of your phone, you may also try using that but there is nothing as good as having your own back uo close to you such as on your PC.
One thing that led me to do this is because for some unexplained reason, my memory card crashed and what I missed most what the pictures I snapped of places and people and this is really a loss on my time and energy. It is regrettable. It is like having to deal with your wordpress blog when it crashes and you've not made a back up of it. Even wordpress would not explicitly tell you to do so just as Nokia would not tell you to back up your phone although they've provided the ability to do so with your phone's software CD
So I just thought I should do a backup of my Nokia 5330 on my Laptop and for this,
Here is what you will need:
- A Nokia mobile phone
- A pc to mobile phone cable
- A Pc suite cd
Steps to back up your Nokia phone:
- First make sure that you pc suite has been installed and is working on your pc
- Now connect your phone to the pc
- Open up PC suite and ensure that your phone is identified
- Click on the backup menu for Nokia content copier to show up
- You may choose which items to backup such as messages, calendars and other files
- Wait to completion
- Back up is complete
- Remove your phone as you would remove a USB if it is attached to the USB port
