How to delete friends from facebook

Facebook is a great social website that allows you to keep in touch with your friends irrespective of distance or busy lives. In effect, facebook is great tool for managing your friends without having to lose touch with them. Now there could be a lot of reasons why you may want to remove a friend or group of friends from your facebook account. Perhaps you have just not interacted with the, for sometime, had differences in life, no longer have need to keep them in your list, already have too many friendss or you might have mistakenly accepted the wrong person as a friend when if fact you never knew them. I think the last reason may be a noble reason to want to delete a friend on facebook. I mean it could be quite harsh to delete a college or classmate, church buddy or colleage from your facebook account but deleting someone just because you never actually met them in real life and you are not interested in any celebrity life could actually be a more sane reason.
Now how do you delete a friend from your list of friends on facebook? Well I just thought I should write this post as I found myself in that same position today. I got an email on my Yahoo account of someone requesting to be a friend on facebook and I thought it was my university mate since he had the same surname and unfortunately I turned off images on my browser. After accepting this person as a friend, i found out in his profile that he just didn't fit the description of a school mate so I opened up the images and found out that I didn't really know him. Now why would I want to keep such a contact as my friend on facebook? I mean, this is a personal facebook account and not an internet marketing, website or fan page so there really was no need to keep ties with people I have not known in real life or worked with anyway so I was looking for a way to quietly delete him if possible but without having to offend anyone.

Now after much Googling, I just want to share how you can delete a friend from your facebook account:
- Log into facebook
- Click on Account > Edit Friends
- Click on recently added or just All friends to select the ones you want to delete
- Click on the X mark besides the person to delete him/her
- Confirm that you want to delete
- The contact will be deleted from your facebook account
