This is the biggest free gift I have witnessed so far from a telecoms company in Nigeria when it comes to blackberry bundle services.
Airtel Nigeria is actually given up to 1gb or 1024MB data to subscribers in its latest data promo as it launches Airtel Bundle for Blackberry.
IGB or 1024MB is a lot to give to customers for free and when you compare it with the cost of internet service plans by other networks, this free gift from Airtel is worth more than N10,000($100) but it seems the difference is that you don't actually get to use it for full internet browsing but rather for social networking.
How to activate the Blackberry bundle for social month or messaging:
It comes under 2 plans depending on which one you do more: Social networking or messaging.
1. Send "socialmonth" or "messagingmonth "without the quotes to 440 to get activated
or
2. Using USSD, just dial *440*111#
The social month BIS free plan does not actually allow full internet browsing as it has been configured to only allow facebook, twitter, blackberry messenger and Yahoo messenger. You will not have access to internet or emailFinal comments:
The free 1GB internet bundle is really huge and I don't see how a subscriber will be able to exhaust the whole plan by just using a blackberry. I'm guessing a lot of people will still have unspent MBs after the 30 day free period. Airtel is really doing a good job though.
