Paypal is a great way to receive and send money online in minutes and it is one of the most popular means of transferring funds for most countries. There are a lot of people already on the Paypal network from large internet companies, freelance communities to bloggers, programmers, affiliate marketers and internet publishers to ordinary people who just shop online. Paypal is a trusted brand and their fees are low, offering a much secure platform for people to move money electronically without losing the privacy of their credit cards. Since the rise of credit card fraud and hacking, Paypal seemed to come to the rescue to help users to still be able to manage their funds without having to flash their private card details on every online store. Nowadays, e-commerce users are getting smarter and adopting Paypal as their preferred method for shopping online.
Now in order to use your Paypal account, you need to have an email account and then add funds in order to be able to send money but you don't need to fund it if you are just receiving money.
Why Verification? Once you have a Paypal account, it would need to be verified. The purpose of verification is to ensure that the user has been properly investigated by Paypal and he is actually who he says he is. Paypal would request such thing as a social security number, bank account or other personal detail and with confirmation from you afterwards.
There are 2 ways to currently verify your Paypal account:
- Link a bank account
- With a Paypal debit card
What you can do with an Unverified Paypal accountSuppose your Paypal account is not yet verified, you can still do a couple of things with your account. You can still send and receive money online but it limited.
You can still send up to $2000 after which you will need verification
You can still withdraw from Paypal funds up to $500 per month
