Africa is second largest continent in the world after Asia but is also the most populous. There is a lot of scientific evidence to even support that human life may have started in Africa or that Africa was the centre from which other continents emerged. Now, if Africa could have been so rich, how did it become poor in a lot of ways, such as stable government, structural development and economic strength. When it even comes to things like making money online, Africa seems to be lagging behind due to its slow pace of adopting emerging technologies such as the internet.
Well, it seems all these is already changing as the internet is already helping to grow a crop of successful online stories. Africa is rising, almost unruffled by the global recession and with staggering Internet usage statistics from African countries like Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco and South Africa, Algeria, Sudan and Kenya, there has been no better time than now to get into online business.
In the Western World, internet usage is already in its prime and there are already established global giants making the big bucks from the web. It seems Africa had been left out but the surprise comes at about the right time, when many developed nations are still about recovering from recession, faster growing economies like Nigeria are already leading the pack in internet usage in Africa and has helped inspire rapid IT growth and democracy in the continent.
Although commercial use of the internet favours mostly bigger companies like Email service provider, social networks and online advertising networks, there still left a lot of room for smaller entrepreneurs like Bloggers, Forum Administrators, Freelancers, Online retailers and even Computer literates to make a living online.
Time and time again, you hear the slogan, "Make Money at home while you sleep". Is it for real or is it true?
Well, to tell it like it really is, people are already making a lot from the web and I'm talking about Africans. If you still don't know how they do it, then it seems that you still need to do a bit of research on how to make money online in Africa.

Now how do people make money from the internet in Africa despite the low level of facilities available?

Examples of things people are already doing to make money online in Africa:- Reseller web hosting

You can also try online forex trading. What this involves is buying and selling currencies online by using a trading platform such as Marketiva's streamster. In order to do this, you just need to setup an account for free with Marketiva.com and get a free $5 in your account. You also get up to $10,000 virtual trading funds that allows you to do virtual trading, to test how the system works before going into real life trading.
You can learn more about forex trading by googling for it or going to tutorial sites like babypips.com.
The idea is to buy, sell or hold in speculation on when prices fall or rise so as to make a profit.
Another way which you can make money online in Africa is by selling ebooks. You create information ebooks and sell them on your website to thousands of people. The success of your ebook will depend on how many people are looking for that same information.

Internet Marketing surely gives us Africans a level playing field as all the technical barriers are being erased. I am living in Uganda and I am already earning from the internet. I started by subscribing to infinity downline (www.infinitydownline.com/?id=centson). Here you get video and audio training on online business. I am now working on article marketing, thanks to one of the training module. There is really so much that can be done on the internet.
Article marketing is done by submitting articles to article directories with links to your website, contact and a product that you may be selling (yours or as an affiliate). You need to get a niche market first, then find products that you may sell to it, write an article and submit it. Please get in touch with me and I will send you some videos on this method. It is one that you can start with nothing and start earning some income, if you know how to do it.
