MTN hynet service is good if you are using it at your home of office. It is more of a fixed modem internet service and is not as mobile as the fastlink which comes AS A usb stick. The CPE(Modem hardware) that comes on Hynet normally requires to be plugged into power so I'm thinking that's something MTN didn't really think about as they could be losing some market there.
What I've noticed with MTN's Hynet is that you can use it as long as there is light powering the modem or CPE but once power goes off, your connection disconnects. Now imagine that?
I was just using it this morning and didn't notice when Nepa took the light. My laptop was still on but the hynet had powered off. I was worried and said what happend to thing Hynet? I later discovered that my laptop was still running on battery but Hynet was not designed to run on battery. I hope the next version of Hynet's hardward they do comes with a backup battery.

Advantages of MTN Hynet
- It is really fast
- You don't pay based on downloads. It allows unlimited data transfer
- It looks pretty
- Plug and connect. No software installations necessary
- Really affordable and the promo includes a free modem

Disadvantages of using MTN hynet
- No backup battery and needs constant light. Now this is Nigeria not the USA
- Not portable such as other USB modems or fastlink

Tips to better enjoy your Hynet service
- Always make use of a UPS or battery(Inverter) service so that your systems are constantly powered on
- It is designed for commercial or home use and not really for singles. So Cybercafes can make more money with it
- The higher you go, the faster it can be. So it works best at high altitudes

I was thinking, a CPE modem as big as this should at least have an internal battery but it doesn't. How come it's so big then? Perhaps, I would have to incorporate an inverter or generator system to better enjoy this service.

I'm still going to write a review about MTN'S Hynet service but from what I've seen so far, it really rocks.
