Assuming you've already done a backup of your contacts and other details from your phone using MTN's backup service, the fact is that those details are stored by MTN(who has a contract with you) on a virtual server on the internet. Now the purpose of doing a back up service in the first place is to have a reliable place to store your phone data, most especially your contacts.Reasons why you may need to restore data back to your phone with MTN Backup
There may be several reasons why you may want to restore your backed up contacts or other data back to your phone:- You got a new phone after losing or changing your old one
- Your phone just crashed
- Data was mistakenly deleted from your phoneHow to really restore your contacts and other details using MTN Backup service- Log into your online account at https://mtnonline.weballynis.gemalto.com/gemaltobackup/default/login.vhtml
- Go to devices to view where you did your recent back up or sync
- Ensure that the selected phone is your current phone
- Click on sync now and the process beginsThe synchronization process
When this is initiated from your MTN online account, here is how it goes down:
When you click on Sync now, you will get an OTA message saying "server wants to do a synchronization with you"
click on continue and it says
"Operation in progressIt would then update your phone or new phone with contacts, events, tasks and notes that you have saved alreadyAfter being complete,
it says "Operation successful. thank you" click on okMTN backup sends you a text message
Y'hello! Your sim backup was successful. Now your contacts are safe on the MN network. Thank you for choosing MTN N.You are automatically charged N50 and now your phone is back as it was with all contacts, calendars and other data restored. Thanks to MTN NigeriaCost
MTN will charge your account N50 and then send the sync data to your phone using OTA
with that you will be able to get back all of your backed up data back to your phoneHow many gb does mtmn allow you to store or download from your back up account?
I'm not sure about this yet and don't know how many contacts they actually allow.
