If you are in Nigeria and in need of having a website of your own but not ready to start paying for it or just want one for free, it is quite possible. You can have a free website in Nigeria and all you need to do is submit the content you want to get published on it.

There may be many reasons why you may want to have a free website such as:

- Not ready to start paying for it
- Just want to test the benefits of having one
- Don't really want a comprehensive website yet
- Just want to give an online presence for your business like a business listing

Whatever your reasons, there are may ways you can get a website for free either for business, personal or other needs and this includes:
- Free web hosting websites: e.g. Netfirms
- GNBO Initiative: Google's initiative to get Nigerian businesses online

There are other ways to get free websites from Nigeria and the two examples I gave above just require that you register a domain name and your website will be live.

You should know, a website consists of two things:
- A domain name
- Web hosting account

The freebies I mentioned above no longer offer free domains but they offer free web hosting so you just need to purchase a domain name first and this is cheap and goes for about N1000 to N2000 a year

Web hosting normally costs about N3000 to N10,000 a year but you can get this for free if you just sign up with these links I gave.

There are other web hosts that offer you a free Nigerian website and you can google for them. Some of them even offer free domain names but they are mostly sub domain names which are also linked to your free web hosting account.

The good thing about having a free website is that you pay little or nothing for it and yet your business or website is Googleable - meaning that people can find you easily when they Google your name.
