How I shop online on US websites from Nigeria

Want to know how to shop for items on American online stores from Nigeria? Well this post is to share with you on how I do it.

Steps that are involved with ordering and shipping to Nigeria

Account setups: One time only

1. I had an existing email address

2. Signed up for a free account at Amazon.com using my email address

3. Went to my bank and ordered for a Visa/Mastercard denominated in US dollars.

4. Signed up for a US shipping address for a 1 year(about $60) or Pay as you go($10) account

5. Added my credit card to my Amazon billing account

Ordering and shipping

6. Browse through the Amazon store for items I would like to have and added them to shopping my cart.

7. When ready to pay, I proceed to checkout and made payment with my existing billing account

8. Expected Amazon to ship to my US address and I also track it online

9. I get an email notification within a few days from my US shipping account

10. I log into my US shipping account and estimate the shipping cost to Nigeria via DHL. They charge about $50 per kg.

11. I then order for shipping to Nigeria and my credit card will be billed

12. When shipped, I get an email notification from my US shipping account with the DHL tracking number

13. I track shipment from the USA to Nigeria and it normally takes about 3 to 5 days

14. Once I see the status on DHL website that my package is with the delivery counter, I expect same day delivery. I also subscribe to sms services from the DHL tracking website.
