In what can be described as an aftermath of the recent US election which has seen America almost evenly divided between 2 parties, there is a growing online petition by the people of Texas, among many other states, seem to be requesting for a secession from the union.Texas is one of the states which has a lot of white conservative voters and the republican party won there. They do not really agree with Obama as much as they agree with Mitt Romney and it happens that they are now getting tired of staying in the union.The petition was started in November 9, after the US elections and it has already drawn over 50,000 signatures although the minimum required is just 25,000.I am not sure how effective the online petition would be to actually allow Texas become an independent state but with the power of online media, it could encourage politicians to start looking in the same direction too.The online petition is here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-texas-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/BmdWCP8BComments:
