How to buy and install apps on your Kindle in Nigeria

The main problem with getting apps from Amazon's kindle store for Nigerians is not in downloading it but in buying it. If someone has already bought apps with his Kindle fire in the US, he can always download it from almost any country in the world including Nigeria. So the main problem is with actually buying it since it requires a US billing address and card as well as a US ip address.

If you are using Amazon's Kindle or Kindle Fire HD in Nigeria, by now you might already know that it's almost impossible to buy and install apps to your device since it seems only US residents are allowed to do that. It doesn't however mean that you can't buy and download apps to Kindle if you are in Nigeria.

The thing about Amazon's Kindle appstore is that Nigerian residents are not allowed to buy from their store but you are allowed to download and install apps assuming someone in the US has bought it for you using a US payment card and ip address. So that's the loophole through which you can get apps from the Kindle appstore - You can buy it using a US ip address or by having someone in the US send it as a gift to you.

However, since one can't get people to send Kindle apps as gifts to them all the time, we are going to focus on buying any kindle apps in Nigeria using a US ip and US billing method.

How to buy paid Kindle(android) apps in Nigeria from Amazon

- First get a US VPN service (This would give you a US ip address)
- Get a US VCC eg. Amazon VCC or any other virtual credit card that has US billing
- Use your computer to connect to the internet
- Log into your Amazon account and configure your 1-click settings with the US address and card
- Go to the Kindle appstore
- Connect to your VPN to change your ip address to USA
- Buy the apps you want using your new 1-click settings
- Now go to your Kindle and connect using Wifi
- Go to your apps > Cloud and select the apps you've purchased but not downloaded yet
- Download to your device and start using it.

It is that easy.

How to get free apps

- Add the VCC and US address to your 1-click settings
- Go to the Kindle appstore
- Select the free app you want to buy at $0.00
- Buy using 1-click and it would be added to your account
- The app would show up in your apps > Cloud when next you connect to the internet.
- You can download and install the app to your device.

For free apps, you don't need to change your ip address but for paid apps, you'd need to do so.

So the idea is to change your IP address and use a US VCC when making payments for apps. Even if your VCC no longer has funds, you can purchase and pay with Amazon gift cards and just keep the VCC for record purposes. Nowadays you can also buy Amazon coins but still need to keep the VCC for record purposes in your account.
