Niche blogging for Nigeria

One of the benefits of blogging is that it helps add useful content on the internet that helps feed people with information. There are a lot of blogs and content websites in Nigeria but most of them are mostly general blogs. There are a lot of niches that still remain untapped in Nigeria's cyberspace and one of the ways by which web publishers can quickly earn more money from their websites is by going into Niche blogging.

What's a niche? It is basically a small category or subset of a population or list of items. It is a small part of the whole.

Let's assume we are in the financial industry, we can say that banking, insurance, stock brokerage are all niches. You can select any one of them in order to provide more useful information about it. When we also consider the economy as a whole, finance itself could be regarded as a niche.

Due to the abundance of websites with content, it is becoming harder for most general blogs to rank high on search engines or even provide online advertisers with a targeted audience. Niche blogging makes it easier for advertisers to get the right converting audience as well as ranking high on search results.

Let's assume that someone is searching for "high interest bank accounts in Nigeria", chances are that he would go to an existing niche blog that is devoted to banking products than a general blog that talks about a lot of things. Niche blogs tend to get more targeted traffic and tend to rank high in their area of concentration.

If you want to make more money online in Nigeria by content publishing, then it's best to go into many of the untapped niches that are still less competitive as Nigerians are mostly searching for.

Niche blogs tend to also have high paying keywords even with low traffic than blogs that blog about everything. A blog that talks about cars and their parts is more likely to have a higher pay per click from Google than a general blog, even with low traffic.

One of the ways by which I've increased my Google adsense income over a short period of time is by creating many niche sites with some content. I found out that some keywords do have high search queries and pay better than others. There are a lot of niche keywords to discover in Nigeria and when you find them and focus on them, it would be like you've just hit gold!
