When it comes to getting entertained on a portable tablet the Kindle Fire HD really comes in handy but you no longer have to be stuck to your 8 to 9 inch Kindle FHD as you could output your device's display on a much larger screen.
Well, for those who already have a HD tv and want a sort of cinema like experience with their Kindle Fire, you could as well connect your Kindle Fire to your HD TV. The only basic thing you really need to do this is a MicroHDMI to HDMI cable.
The Kindle Fire HD comes with a micro hdmi port and most HD tvs also have a HDMI port. You could use a hdmi cable to connect the two devices which in this case would output your Kindle Fire hd's display to your tv screen.
As I said, the main thing you really need to do this is a micro HDMI to HDMI cable and I got a really tough one from Amazon at just $8.99. This one was called DATASTREAM High Speed micro hdmi to hdmi cable and I have attached the picture in this post.
How to do it
===============
- Switch off your HD tv first
- Connect the large HDMI end to your tv's hdmi input port
- Switch on your tv and kindle
- Change your tv to the hdmi channel
- Now attach smaller end of the cable to your Kindle
Your Kindle's screen would now be displayed on your tv. So whatever your Kindle is displaying like a Youtube channel, website or playing a video, your hd tv would also be showing it and with the voice too.
Issues and how to solve it
===========================
- If your Kindle is not yet displaying on your tv, remove the micro-hdmi end attached to your kindle and reattach it.
- If your video display on your tv is small, then your mp4 video may have a smaller resolution. Playing a higher resolution video like HD from your kindle would give a better display on your tv.
Other things I noticed
=====
- Sound was much higher on tv when connected to external speakers
- Streaming Youtube on Google chrome works better than when streaming it on Amazon silk.
