Why I prefer shopping online on Amazon.com

There are lots of benefits with shopping for computer accessories and other products at Amazon.com and for me, I do have my reasons why I do buy them. In this post, I just want to list some of these reasons and why.

Why I shop at Amazon for computer products:

- Right price:
Most of the products being sold in Nigeria do come at a much higher retail price than what you can get from Amazon. Things like flash drives, laptop chargers, Computer RAM, Wifi dongles and so on. I get to buy them at a discount price even if I include shipping. One way I reduce the shipping cost is by buying in bulk.

- Original software:
When it comes to getting computers that come with original software like a Windows OS, you could get it from Amazon from a lot of sellers and that's why I even prefer buying refurbished laptops from Amazon than from the computer price. You could get a laptop for cheaper or even almost the same price when you include shipping to Nigeria but you are sure it also comes with an original Windows software.

- Accurate product specification:
Although there are lots of other online stores both within and outside Nigeria where you can buy computer accessories, they don't offer the same standard specification that Amazon offers. Even at times when I've bought from the local market in Nigeria, the devices don't come with a complete package or as advertised. At times certain parts are missing and not disclosed. You could go to buy a 3g dongle for instance and they don't include a cd in the package but when you go back, they tell you that you have to pay an additional fee for the cd. With Amazon, you know what exactly you are getting and what's not included in the package.

- Good quality:
Most of the products being sold on Amazon are of good quality except for a few that are made in China. When buying on Amazon, I try to ensure that it is made by a reputable American company if I am looking for the best quality. When buying things like wrist watches, laptops. flash drives, designer clothing and shoes, you should know which brand names to buy.

- Online tracking:
Once I make a purchase at Amazon.com, the seller sends the tracking details almost as soon as the items have shipped and I'm able to track it till it arrives to Nigeria. From USPS to DHL, I'm able to know where my goods are and how fast I should expect it.

- Access to new products:
The Amazon website offers a lot of new products although they also sell used products. You would however be able to choose from a wide range or products which have never been used unlike the case in Nigeria. In some cases when buying locally, you may be sold refurbished computer products as new in Nigeria but the case is different when shopping at Amazon
