How to buy PHCN prepaid meter token with Mobile Money

This is a report on how I was able to buy prepaid meter tokens using Stanbic IBTC mobile money service. It was quite easy and convenient and the only fee is a N100 charge.

You can do this in 2 ways:
- Using the mobile web
- Dialing the USSD code

Using the Mobile web

- Go to Stanbicibtcbank.mobi
- Select mobile money
- Enter your phone number
- Select My Wallet
- Select on Pay bills
- Select Meter Token
- Enter the following details
+ Amount
+ Customer id: i.e. Meter number
- Select Utility bills
- Select PHCN
+ Enter your mobile number or beneficiary
+ Enter your 4 digit PIN
- Click on Ok
- Confirm the transaction(Normally comes with an extra N100 charge)

Your mobile money account will be deducted while the PHCN meter token will be immediately send to the phone number provided by SMS

2. Dialing the USSD code

- Just start by dialing the CODE *909#
- Reply with a 1 (To go to Wallet)
- Reply with a 7 (To pay bills)
- Reply with a 2 (To go to Utility bills)
Reply with a 1 (To select PHCN)
- Reply with a 1 (To select Meter Token)
- Reply with the amount you want to load
- Enter the Customer id/Meter number and reply
- Reply with the mobile phone number to receive sms feedback
- Reply with your 4 digit PIN
- Confirm the transaction

Mobile money account will be debited while PHCN meter token for that specific meter will be sent to receiver's phone number.
