MTN Lumia 625 Phone upgrade and acceptable phones

MTN Nigeria has begun a phone upgrade program that allows Nokia phone users to upgrade their mobile phones to the Nokia Lumia 625 phone.

What does a phone upgrade really mean? Well, it simply means switching an old phone to get a new higher version phone. The Nokia Lumia are the latest series of phones from Nokia as far as 2013 is concerned and so giving up your old mobile device for a Nokia Lumia phone is certainly an ugprade.

One of the first things that I though about the phone upgrade program was whether all Nokia phone were accepted. Well, it so happens that MTN Nigeria has actually specified what sort of phones would be acceptable.

To be able to partake in the Nokia Lumia phone upgrade promo, one would have to at least have a mobile phone in any of the following models:

All blackberry phones, All HTC devices, Samsung Qwerty and Touch devices,
Nokia Asha (200, 201, 202, 203, 205, 210, 300, 302, 303, 305, 308, 501), C-series Nokia (e.g. C3), Nokia 200 series, 300 series and Nokia Lumia WP7.5

Don't bring any other phone like a Chinese Android phone because those will not be accepted.

So if you've got any of the specified phone models, you are among the lucky ones that can benefit from the phone upgrade program courtesy of MTN Nigeria.

Things to do before swapping your phone

- Back up all your data first e.g. contacts, calendar, texts, memory card items e.t.c.
- You may also do a factory reset to clean the phone.

How to upgrade
==============
- Take your mobile phone and working charge to any MTN office closeby
- Request for the Lumia upgrade
- Pay the discounted fee
- Get a Nokia Lumia 625 in place of your former phone

What you gain from upgrading

According to the MTN website, there is a lot to gain from the Nokia Lumia upgrade program and this includes the following:

- Discount of N18,000 off the original price of the Lumia
- Free Nokia DC-16 charger worth N4000
- Free internet data worth N8k per month for 12 months.

I have nokia 6303 classic, is that not accepted for the upgrade?
