The question which many Jumia Nigeria affiliates in Nigeria seem to be asking today is whether their affiliate program has been actually closed or deactivated.
Well, after reading a post posted by Adesoji on Ogbongeblog, I thought It'll be nice to at least write what I understand on the issue.
Actually, I've been an affiliate of Jumia Nigeria and I got to be one through Commission Junction, an affiliate network site that allows members to earn commissions from a wide range of affiliate programs one of which included shopping sites like Jumia Nigeria, Jumia Egypt and Jumia Morocco. One feature about CJ is that they offer payments through Paypal, a system which doesn't accept Nigerians yet.
Jumia is probably the largest shopping website in Nigeria and what I love about them is that they give Nigerians the ability to shop online with the option of paying on delivery.
So people who love to shop online can buy things from Jumia and if you are already used to their services, you can also make money doing so by being an affiliate with them.
I also received an email from CJ notifying affiliates of their intention to deactivate the affiliate program they were running on behalf of Jumia Nigeria. If you received this email, it doesn't mean that the affiliate program has ended but rather that CJ has stopped offering support for it.
What this basically means is that Jumia's Nigeria's affiliate program has grown big enough that there are already a lot of local Nigerian publishers patronizing their program and this means that you can become a partner directly if you are in Nigeria and are registered with them.
If your Commission Junction affiliate program for Jumia has been deactivated, then all hope is not lost as you can still participate in the program by participating directly with them through their site.
To register or remain a partner, just log in at affiliate.jumia.com
Register if you have not done so yet
An activation email will be sent to you and you can log in with your username and password.
Once registered and logged in, you'd be able to create a campaign for ads you would then copy and place on your site.
Once you've earned enough income from Jumia's affiliate program, you'll then be paid in Naira to a bank account you specify.
So, in summary, Jumia Nigeria's affiliate program has not yet ended, it has only evolved and Nigerians can now apply directly and get paid without the need for a Paypal account.
