When it comes to online shopping, sites like Jumia are Konga are where I love to visit. This post is on how I was able to buy a Tecno T340 phone from Jumia without leaving my home and using my Facebook account.
You know, one of the beauties of online shopping is that it allows one to buy things without the inconvenience of traditional shopping in Nigeria where one would have to move from one shop to another in other to bargain and find the best quality products too. With online shopping, one doesn't have to do that and you save energy, time and fuel you would have used. Who knows? Maybe one day, even Nigerian mothers would be able to buy groceries and foodstuffs online without having to go to places like Oyingbo, Mushin or Yaba.
I've never really formally registered at Jumia using their site based form but since I had a Facebook account, I was able to use it to buy from them since Facebook was integrated with Jumia.
Anyway, I decide to try out the Jumia shopping experience for the first time and I chose to just buy something a bit cheap - The Tecno T340 phone which was sold at N2600.
How I did it
===========
- First went to the Jumia page where Tecno t340 phone was listed
- Clicked to add it to my cart
- Proceeded to checkout
- Used my Facebook account to log in
- Filled in other details such as delivery address and payment terms. I chose to pay cash on delivery
- Completed the order with free shipping and VAT inclusive. No other fees other than what was listed as the product price
- I received an email from Jumia concerning the order
- I received a second email from Jumia indicating that the order has been verified
- I'm expecting the order to be delivered between 1 to 8 days. Jumia will contact me when it ships.
I think, it is actually easy to buy things at Jumia. If you don't have a Facebook account, you can as well just register with them and for most items, you don't even have to pay any money forward.
