Of all internet banking services and banks that I've used in Nigeria, it is only UBA's that I would say offers me the best service when it comes to paying bills.
For someone living in a city like Lagos, you'd agree that there are a also a growing number of bills one has to pay just to live an acceptable live in a modern Nigerian city. One has to pay for electricity, water, airtime recharge, flight tickets and even shopping bills.
Nowadays, in a growing economy like Nigeria, there are also a growing number of payment platforms being used to settle such bills. With a bank account and an ATM card, the process of settling bills are actually made easier as more and more Nigerians are now encouraged to make use of cashless transactions. This is why debit cards, mobile money and internet banking are among the most patronized payment platforms used by young Nigerians.
When it comes to things like buying recahrge cards, I can't really remember the last timeI bought it froam a road side vendor when I can do the same from my mobile money account and UBA Direct.
UBA direct is UBA's free internet banking service which is accessible to a UBA bank customer who has subscribed for it. It doesn't come activated by default but one has to actually request for it.
Once you then have access to your internet banking service, you can use it to do a lot of things such as getting account statement, viewing your balance, transferring money and paying your bills.
I use UBA direct to pay my bills and this really saves me a lot of time and energy that would have been spent if I were to go to places like GSM offices, PHCN office or even the DSTV office to pay in cash.
UBA Direct internet banking allows me to:
- Pay for my PHCN Prepaid bill online
- Renew my DSTV subscription
- Buy Airtime topup for any GSM network
- Transfer money to a business partner
- Renew my internet service
All it really takes is:
- Having an internet connection
- Logging in to your internet banking account
- Going to pay bills
- Selecting the bill you want to pay
- Confirming the payment
- Your account gets debited with the amount while the receiver's account gets credited.
The good thing is that it allows you to have a 3rd party record for all payments that you have made and also be able to keep a track of which bills you regularly pay.
