One of the things I love about Amazon coins is that when it comes to buying Android apps from the Kindle store, you can actually get it at a discount if you choose to pay with Amazon coins.
What are Amazon coins by the way? Well it is basically a digital form of money which Amazon accepts as payment on their Kindle appstore.
When you take a visit to the Kindle Appstore and browse through the gallery of apps there, you'd notice that one of the payment options being accepted are the Amazon coins. This means that if you can provide those coins, you'd be given access to download and install the app on your Kindle. You can choose to purchase this apps directly with your Kindle or on a computer.
When it comes to payments being accepted, one can pay with his Amazon coins or with payment system set up in one's 1-click settings and this can be a credit card or gift card if you still have some balance in the latter.
Paying for apps with a credit card or gift card can be cool but it means you would be paying for exactly the listed amount rather than getting a discount for it which Amazon coins offers.
One thing I've noticed about Amazon coins is that Amazon actually sells it at a discount unlike if you were buying gift cards. I guess they are doing that for a purpose either to promote the sale of Amazon coins or just because people buying such coins would eventually spend it since they are non-refundable. So to Amazon, any sold coins are considered a good sale.
One could choose to buy 500 Amazon coins worth $5 for $4.80 or buy up to 10,000 units worth $100 for $90. Buying more Amazon coins means you get more discount on what you spend on apps.
So rather than using your credit card or gift card to buy apps and pay the face value, you can actually save some money by buying Amazon coins.
