The monthly environmental Sanitation that is normally held on the last Saturday of every month has been cancelled for April and this was done by the Lagos state government according in order to allow pupils to participate in their common entrance examinations.

What this means is that there would be no enforcement of law stopping people from movement and doing their normal business although there are also free to keep their environment clean if they wish to do so.

Normally, on the last Saturday of every month, Lagos state normally sets aside a Saturday in order to allow people to clean up their environment and these includes the gutters as well as collecting garbage. The law restricts movement on vehicles outside one's home as from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

There is a law restricting people from movement and opening their business on the sanitation day and People who are arrested for failing to comply with the law end up paying a fine.

How does one know if there is environment sanitation in Lagos?

There are a couple of ways you can do this:

- Listen to local radio
- Watch Lagos Television(LTV)
- Visit the Lagos state website for news

I watched the LTV channel today and noticed that it has been cancelled and so people are free to go about their normal duties.
