One of the things I love about shopping at Aliexpress is that they offer free shipping to Nigeria in most cases even though it can take as much as 2 months. I guess it's a good place to shop and save money for things you don't want in a hurry but you can also speed up the delivery process if you pay a bit more for DHL shipping services.
Anyway, when shopping on Aliexpress.com from Nigeria, one of the things you'd have to consider is the payment method. Does Aliexpress accept payment methods accessbiel to Nigerians? Well, Yes they do.
Here are payment options available to shoppers on Aliexpress.com
========
Mastercard
Visa
Boleto Bancario
Transferencia Bancaria
Webmoney
Qiwi Wallet
Alipay wallet
As you can see from above, Nigerians can pay on Aliexpress by making use of their Visa or Mastercard if it's funded with USD, Euro or GBP. I initially thought that they also accepted Naira cards but after several tries, mine was not accepted. Anyway, since most of their items are listed in USD, I prefer making use of my prepaid USD Visa card which has already been dedicated for making online payments.
To use a Visa or Mastercard on Aliexpress.com, you just have to first ensure that they are funds in them already. Some banks require you to buy a token in order to use their Naira Mastercard online. I guess it's just easier to just source for your own dollars from the black market and use it to get a Prepaid Visa or Mastercard funded in USD.
Once you've finished your shopping and make payment at Aliexpress.com, they would hold the money in a secure account called an escrow account until the seller ships the goods to you and you have confirmed that you have received it.
