I recently received a Paypal eCheck from one merchant as a result of the fact that I'm running their affiliate program. This is the first time I'm receiving an eCheck and after having received an email from Paypal that the merchant has sent me a payment that is still pending to be credited, I decided to confirm it by logging into my Paypal account first.

Well, after logging into my Paypal account, the transaction was listed there and shown as pending too. One thing I however also noticed on further viewing the transaction was that there were some charges that deducted the total value payable to me. It seems that when someone sends you an echeck through Paypal, it is the receiver that would pay the fees and this is unlike when someone just sends a Paypal payment to you.

I was sent about $750 by Paypal eCheck from the merchant I'm affiliated with and after deductions, I noticed that I'll be receiving about $725 meaning that I was charged about $25 for the payment received.

Another thing with Paypal eChecks is that it doesn't get credited into your Paypal account immediately as it takes about 3 to 5 working days before it's added.

Anyway, the important thing is that Paypal have verified that you've received the Payment once it's listed in your transactions and you just have to be patient until it gets credited and you can then use it as you want.

Initially, the sender asked me whether I would prefer receiving a cheque or Paypal and I told him I preferred the latter since it's faster. Now that the payment has been sent, It gives me a stronger reason to continue providing service to the merchant by promoting his products.
