I recently visited an electronics store in Lagos and noticed the price tag of one of their latest TVs from LG. It was a staggering price and not one many Nigerian would be able to afford but I guess it's not meant for everybody.
Is it really possible for an ordinary TV to cost more than N1m? If you convert this to US dollars, that runs up to about $6450. Even not many US residents would be willing to spend that much on a TV.
Well, it is possible but it may depend on what you mean by ordinary TV. This HD TV is priced at over N1m in the Nigerian market and I think one of the reasons why it is priced like that is because it's a curved HD TV. I'm talking about the 55 inch curved Oled TV EA9700 from LG.
LG's 55 inch Curved Oled TV EA9700 is the world's first 55 inch curved Oled TV and it's a smart TV that comes with the latest technology for HD TVs.
It's energy efficient, has thinner panels(4.3mm) and has an attractive design that would beautify your home.
Given the fact that it's a curved TV, you can conveniently watch from almost any angle in your room and no need to strain your neck like when watching a flat screen tv.
It uses 4 color pixel technology that brings in a variety of colours to allow a better colour display.
It has PVR technology that allows you to pause, rewind and replay videos you've watched on your screen either from your local TV station, cable or other video sources.
